I’m just hoping to give you a feel for these spots, is that right, like your local, friendly guide.

Haghpat Monastery: A Steep History

Let’s start with Haghpat Monastery. You know, perched right on top of a hill, so you can just see the Debed River Gorge. That view by itself? You may want to see it, in short, its worth the trip. Then again, there’s more.

It’s not just about the pretty picture; it also feels old, might I add, and when I talk old, I do mean like, started back in the 10th century old. As a matter of fact, it’s a part of a UNESCO World Heritage site, it really shows the impressive construction skills of people way back when. Inside, you see, its quiet. Even with all that tourist foot traffic, you can feel something like, the stillness.

As I was saying, be sure to notice the Surb Nshan Church. Its like, its the main church. Look up to the carved decorations. The sunlight entering is that, well, filtered light makes it a bit spiritual in some respects.

Sanahin Bridge: An Ancient Crossing

A short trip away, might I add, like about driving a little ways is Sanahin, you see, where the Sanahin Bridge is located. Actually, that Sanahin Monastery is another stunner, very close to Haghpat in short, in architectural style, too. To be honest, Sanahin perhaps feels like the quieter one, seemingly a place with a slower rhythm of time.

The bridge? Naturally, you can just walk across it. As a matter of fact, you will be using rocks from many, many years gone by! And like you’re stepping back in time. You can easily imagine those traders and monks of long ago traveling right this very way. Make certain to watch how the river has carved and wound and cut a path, and watch as the river streams below your feet.

Odzun Church: Unique Architecture

Okay, you want a place slightly different, well, you will get that a bit far from the others. That place tends to be the Odzun Church. As a matter of fact, this Church actually is just stunning, with its position overlooking the hills, now that is quite the sight! Arguably, that position is breathtaking and the stone work is truly amazing. Very old and well looked after, if you can picture that? You could spend some real quality time taking photos around the location. It would almost be something special.

Very near that very building are some old grave stones. Very different from any modern styles. Just the details, I mean. The etchings on the stones, as a matter of fact, seem like they have so many stories to tell. It really gets you wondering a bit about the different folks from before. What their story might have been? You just tend to want to give your appreciation of that all that came before.

Mend Er Cave: A Glimpse Into History

So, here’s something really offbeat – I mean caves! Very different things completely, alright! Mend Er Cave can seemingly appeal a bit if you feel adventurous. To be honest, the Cave seemingly holds bits and pieces from times before, you just can’t forget it.

Remember now that spelunking may not be the safest so just proceed with care. Remember now that Armenia in general doesn’t actually over-protect or regulate spots so you should also just go slow with everything so safety is achieved.

Zarni Parni Cave: More Than Just a Cave

Right then, there’s Zarni Parni Cave, for instance, and it could almost be the most special. To be honest, it used to be, actually a fortress in the days gone by! If you just tend to want that history blended a bit with a nature walk that is an impressive way. As a matter of fact, the architecture really melds itself a little with what is around it, actually. As a matter of fact, bringing those torches, seemingly those that use batteries or crank operated will really come in handy.

In short, make sure you actually ask around locally. Ask about all those different trails to just use when you walk up, but most important thing I should point out to be cautious and wear footwear to prevent injury! Very important and can’t be dismissed!
